Why Play Tennis?

Whether you are five, fifty-five or eighty-five, tennis is a sport for all generations. Tennis is a safe, non-contact sport that does not rely on expensive equipment for participation. It can be practiced alone or involve multiple players and is one of the easiest sports to participate in.

Tennis is the perfect sport for a healthy body, mind and spirit. It provides cardiovascular and strength exercise, challenges the mind and can bring hours or engagement and fun. Research has indicated that playing an average one hour of singles tennis is the equivalent of burning 600 calories for men and 420 calories for women.  The National Heart Foundation recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity per day for adults and at least 60 minutes for children.
